Literature Text

I have a curse.

like a mermaid I lure
in the black substance
belonging to my father.

And I wait for you.

When you arrive
I bring pleasure
( like a whore)
Sing like a siren
All to allure you
Right into my heart

And I wait for you.

But like a mermaid
I take you deep down
Like a whore
I will make you pay
Like a siren
I will make you drown

And I waited for you.

You were a ship
Heading to victory
Now you're a wreck
of forgotten glory

and I used to be the sea
bringing you to destiny
Now I am the ocean
without any devotion

And still I wait for you.

I am a curse.
(crying waterfalls)
:bulletblue: Poseidon is the Greek God of water (oceans, rivers, sea's).
:bulletblue: Sirens were creatures that lured sailors into the water until they drowned. They did this by singing.
:bulletblue: Mermaids lured sailors into the water too, though sometimes it's said they didn't want to drown them but just took them underwater because they liked the sailors, not realising they couldn't breathe.

:bulletblue: This poem is about hurting the ones you desire most.
